How does the Soulsound Resource Centre work?
The Soulsound Resource Centre is a place for sound engineers of all walks of life to come together, learn new things, be inspired and generally improve their knowledge and employability. We feel that there is a serious lack of Continued Professional Development for sound engineers, so we plan to fill that gap with video tutorials, interviews and anything else interesting we can lay our hands on.
We will be supplementing video content with live seminar days and weekend courses when we can, and your questions are always welcome. We will endeavor to answer these when pointing a camera at one of our tutors or contributors, and use them to inform how we film the upcoming topics. There are also various membership options available.
Is the resource suitable for all different levels of sound engineer?
In general, the answer is yes, as what we offer is not an actual course as such, it is additional information and added value aimed at making you a better engineer. Saying that, it’s probably more appropriate for those wanting to add to their studies or who are in the first few years of work, or those that have reached a plateau in their career and can’t seem to get to the next level. We aim to change that.
Who are your tutors and what experience do they have?
Our team has produced some of the best young engineers in the world, all of whom have gone on to lead extremely successful careers.
Can I ask your contributors specific questions on sound engineering?
There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions on the website or social media. We will pose those questions to the contributor the next time we have a camera pointed at them. We will also collect questions to help us inform how we shoot the next topic.
What is Soulsound Agency?
Soulsound Agency is a career management agency for live sound engineers based in London, UK. It is a small agency helping entry level and more experienced engineers into work, and helping build careers.
How does the CV advice service work?
Darryn de la Soul will help you by reading your current CV and giving you feedback from an employers-eye-view. This is a CV Advice Service, not a CV Writing Service.
Will I make contact with other sound engineers?
Once our forum is open, yes indeed! We will also be holding occasional UK-based live seminar days and weekends where our tutors will be available for personal interaction, and most likely beer-drinking.
Is there a qualification linked to the resource centre?
No, the resource centre is not offering a “course” with an actual qualification. What we are offering is fine information from inside the heads of fine engineers to help you build a better career.
How do the webinars work?
In partnership with SSR London, we are presenting a series of webinars called the Camden Sound Sessions. Members will have priority booking rights for spaces on the webinars.
I live in a part of the world where access to training is difficult. How can Soulsound help?
Soulsound can help by bringing you great video tutorials, and providing a platform for you to get your questions answered.

Does a Soulsound Membership mean I’m part of the agency too?
No, I’m afraid not. The agency is a separate concern. Feel free to send Darryn a CV and covering letter, but we suggest you read her ebook “Getting a foot in the door, how to make your way in the live sound industry” first!
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership anytime by going to My Account > Subscription Plans > Cancel. Your membership will be cancelled before next renewal.
Cancelling a subscription will cause it not to renew. If you cancel the subscription, it will continue until the current end date. On that date, the subscription will expire and not be invoiced again. The subscription can be reactivated before it expires. New subscriptions to this account will need to sign up for a new plan.
