D.A.S. Audio sponsors Calibration & Design Techniques For Modern Sound Systems in London

Soulsound is teaming up with D.A.S. Audio to deliver a four-day seminar programme that will explore ‘Calibration & Design Techniques for Modern Sound Systems’. The programme, which is aimed at intermediate and experienced sound engineers, will be held at The Crypt, Christchurch Spitalfields, London.
DAS Audio is highly committed to raising standards of audio education throughout the world. To that end, DAS Audio and their UK distributor, Vortice AV are endorsing this excellent seminar. Delivered by Merlijn Van Veen, Calibration & Design Techniques For Modern Sound Systems is widely recognised as one of the most instructive courses in the world for up and coming system designers. As part of DAS Audio’s commitment to the next generation of engineers, they are proud to sponsor and endorse this seminar.
The seminar is intended to remove the ‘magic’ surrounding sound systems. They will provide participants with the means and physical insight necessary to create predictable sound system designs, regardless of brand and type of speaker, and then verify the results using the dual channel FFT analyser.
Merlijn will thoroughly investigate the complete transmission path from source to receiver in the acoustical, electrical and psycho-acoustical domains. He explains: “After completion of the seminar programme, sound engineers will be able to provide themselves with the same reference over and over again, like a painter who begins each painting with a blank canvas. The system engineers will be able to design a system that delivers the mixing position sound to the entire audience.”
Soulsound founder Darryn de la Soul adds: “We presented this seminar in London last year and it was a huge success. It was great to see lightbulbs switching on in people’s heads and misconceptions being replaced with demonstrable fact.”
The ‘Calibration & Design Techniques for Modern Sound Systems’ seminars take place 20-23 February 2017, between 9am and 6pm each day. The cost for Soulsound members is £375 and for non-members it is £450. Members should email [email protected] for their discount code.
